News’s Super Bowl Ad BTS Delves into Conversation Between Teen and Present Day LeBron James

LeBron James released BTS footage of his commercial for the Super Bowl, which delves into the makings of the crypto ad.

LeBron James released footage from behind the scenes of his new Super Bowl ad on his Instagram.

In the commercial, dubbed “Fortunate Favors the Brave,” A teen LeBron James (played by actor Bentley Green) gets the rare opportunity to speak with his older self regarding the future. The ad features a tagline with the recent Matt Damon commercial which saw quite a lot of backlash, though it looks like the company is doubling down on that tagline at least, for all of its advertising.

In the behind-the-scenes video, Ben Lay, creative director for, said “At its core, this is really a story about all of us. We’ve all had to make these big courageous decisions that affect our future,”  adding that LeBron James “is such a transcendent figure, but yet at the same time he brings this humanity that we can all relate to. Together, we’re inspiring a new generation of builders to create a better version of the internet.”

In order to re-create James’ past, the commercials’ director, Calmatic, had the construction of a set that resembles James’ room down to a tee, with references to Saint Vincent-Saint Mary High School in Akron, Ohio, which is where the NBA star began his rise.

In the Instagram video, Calmatic proceeded to explain how he found and cast Green as the younger iteration of LeBron James following his performance in the FX show “Snowfall”, where he thought this 21-year old actor resembled a younger version of James.

Green said that the opportunity to play his idol in a Super Bowl ad left him “speechless.” Green will also be starring in 61st Street, a Michael B Jordan production.
