NFTs have proven to be insanely popular, seeing as how they saw quite the surge in a short span of time. During that time, many a celebrity jumped on board the NFT hype train, with singer-songwriter and icon being one of them. In December 2021, she successfully launched her NFT collection, which was officially marked as her debut in the space.
Then, earlier this month she held yet another NFT collection on the THETA Network, which looked back on her 2017-2018 tour titled “The Witness Tour”. That collection dropped in March 2022.
This collection followed “The Roar Package” which sold out in just 95 minutes, making that a record and turning it into one of the most successful NFT drops on ThetaDrop, which is Theta Network’s “Low-cost and green” NFT marketplace, per a press release.
Her first collection was able to raise $1.2 million in primary sales, as well as $860,000 in secondary sales, having over 6500 unique buyers that took part in it. That only served to solidify the fact that there’d in fact be more Katy Perry NFTs, which has proven to be true.
“The Witness Dice Collection” is more than just art collectibles that are digital in nature. These NFTs on Theta have bridged “the gap between the physical and digital world to give fans the chance to own an iconic piece of Katy Perry history: the two giant golden dice on which she performed her song “Roulette” during her Witness Tour.”
The latest Katy Perry NFT that’s been up for auction is titled “Actual Golden Die Prop from The Witness Tour“, as part of “The Witness Dice Collection”. The details read “The real deal. This is one of the dice made by Backstage Production that Katy danced and sung “Roulette” upon for every show of her 2017-2018 Witness tour. Redeem this NFT to arrange receipt of the real golden die prop. The winner will be responsible for any shipping costs.”
Perry is, of course, far from being the only celebrity to dive head-first into the NFT scene. A lot of celebrities have been expressing interest in the matter, with the most notable case being Brie Larson. The Captain Marvel star just recently announced her own “lil corner” in the metaverse on Twitter, while also announcing her NFT collection.
Dolly Parton’s ‘Dollyverse‘ is yet another recent example.
