Michael Jordan, known to many as an NBA legend, has been expanding into the metaverse by making some power moves as he invests in Web3. After the announcement of his Solana-based platform titled HEIR, it has now launched its very own debut NFT collection, too.
Heavily inspired by Jordan’s six championship wins with the Chicago Bulls, the NFT collection being released is 6 rings, and will designate each holder as a “founding fan.” The platform is a means for fans to connect with the professional athlete and star.

The NFT collection will also provide access to exclusive content and “Huddles” or limited access communities. The startup was able to sell 5,005 Solana NFTs at the price of 2.3 SOL, which approximately amounts to $221 USD a piece, which acts as a clever homage to Jordan’s iconic jersey number. Originally they planned on selling 10,010 NFTs, however, due to sales being lower than expected, they’ve halved their total number.
HEIR is a joint venture between both the legendary NBA player and his son, Jeffrey Jordan. As of right now, the company hasn’t yet announced which other athletes could be or will be featured on the platform, though Jeffrey did talk to Decrypt, stating that “We’ll be exploring many ways to thoughtfully bring fans into the community, while always ensuring we are honoring our founding fans in a unique way.”
Of course, HEIR isn’t Michael Jordan’s first launch into Web3, having recently joined a $46 million USD funding round for Metaplex Foundation, on top of investing in Mythical Games, a crypto game maker.
The debut NFT collection is now officially live on HEIR.
