Microsoft has gained the U.S. patent for a crypto token service that the company claims can help users develop blockchain applications, thus making it easier and a lot more precise for them to make crypto tokens for different distributed ledgers.
The patent mentions creating and managing tokens is at the moment “difficult and cumbersome” thanks to their lack of standardization across different blockchains. Microsoft’s idea for the technology it proposes according to the ledger describes a ledger-independent system that helps people in creating tokens, as well as giving them the ability to manage them across various different networks as well.
Upon receiving a request from a user, the system will offer them a ton of templates consisting of various attributes and control functions. Of course, those would depend on things like how many tokens are required, representing for instance a digital or a physical asset. After the user’s settled on a template, the system will then subsequently create the token on the designated network.
What’s more is, the system will also provide a pretty common UI to take care of all kinds of token management. This is done to take a load off of the developers, who now don’t have to worry about token-specific code in order to interact with them.
