Spotify is on the lookout for candidates suited for a Web3-centric role for its workforce roster, per 2 job openings posted online.

The first vacancy is for a “Senior Backend Engineer,” who shall ” facilitate collaboration with product, insights, and design to uncover the next growth opportunity leveraging new technologies, like Web3.”

Spotify is also looking for a Senior Manager to form part of the Innovation and Market Intelligence team.

The ideal candidate must possess “expert familiarity with emerging trends,” especially on the topic of Web3 and “emerging technology industries.”

It remains unclear at the moment as to the specifics Spotify is planning in terms of specific crypto-related products or if it would integrate NFTs onto the platform.

Spotify joins a list of many mainstream tech giants joining the hype of the Web3 bandwagon as it makes room for crypto technology.

Just earlier this month Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta said that Instagram will soon have NFTs. He didn’t commit to a specific date though he did point out that users will “hopefully” have the ability to mint NFTs within Instagram in the coming months.

Other mainstream brands that have embraced NFTs with open arms include Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and even Charmin.

The same goes for gaming as well, with companies like Ubisoft standing firm on their NFT ambitions, and the President of Square Enix Yosuke Matsuda championing blockchain gaming in a letter to fans at the start of 2022. Square Enix is popular for franchises like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts.
