Warner Bros. is creating well over 6 million DC Comics-inspired physical trading cards which can be packaged with NFTs that are redeemable. They will be available later in the month.

Card and board game company Catamundi will be tasked with designing the cards and will feature a roster of about 55 different superheroes. The NFTs are minted on the Ethereum sidechain titled Immutable X.

WB also has plans on issuing a few cards that are limited edition in nature, which would use the imagery and characters from Matt Reeves’ “The Batman”, which stars Robert Pattinson.

In a statement, Pam Lifford, the president of global brands and experiences for Warner Bros. said, “Trading cards have been a favorite of fans for decades. Combining that enthusiasm for collecting with a custom NFT is just brilliant.”

Furthermore, the “hybrid” card packs will be in the price range from $5 to $120. Buyers will be tasked with downloading the mobile app titled Hro in order to redeem their physical cards’ NFT components, as well as to trade (as in buy, sell, exchange) other NFTs from the collection, too.

The news is right after Warner Music Group made an announcement regarding their partnership with the play-to-earn game titled Splinterlands, in order to give musical artists a much greater access to NFT marketplaces.
